CHESS
SETS
For
the past 6 years TheDesignLab has been developing a new concept
for a chess set. Each playing piece with its perfect dimensional
ratio achieves a sophisticated design.
The pieces
are stored for display on the reverse side of the playing board
creating a clever puzzle and a contemporary table top sculpture.
Previous versions were milled by hand individually or mass produced
in cast metal and then plated in gold and silver.
We produce
a version with a plexiglass board and plastic figures. Prices
range from $5,000 for the hand made version, $350 for those in
cast metal to $36 for the plastic figures with a plexiglass board.
We successfully marketed the sets in museums, galleries and gift
stores around the country. |
